Rose Castle part XVI

Once she had reached her the kiss had stopped. The two lovers were just talking now aswell though the bright shade of red hadn't dissapeared from Jades cheeks quite yet.
" They have no problem with showing what they feel in public now do they?" Aria asked Chiara.
" They sure haven't." Both girls had a wide smile on their face and were feeling very happy the tension in the air finally had shifted into what it had been meant to be like from the very start. " Can't blame them after what has happened. If that was me and Kai I'd also be eager to show the others he was mine." That was the moment she noticed she let the words slip out of her mouth just a little bit too easily.
" Talking of wich, is it fun to paralyse a man by kissing him?" Aria grinned at the woman before her while Chiara was telling herself how stupid it had been to say that last sentence.She knew well enough that Aria wouldn't just let that one slip away.
" What are you talk... oh yeah... right.That." She also felt the blood rushing hrough her vains a little bit faster now,all the way up to her cheeks.
" So, spit it out what was that about?"
" It was for a good cause. I saw Zane was just as torn apart as Jade when she walked out that door, he just was better able of keeping it to himself. He needed to get to her as fast as possible and Kai was convinced Zane would go and try to make sure Chuck got seriously ingured if he let him go. So, basically, that seemed the best solution."
" And the fact you loved it was just a fun extra?" Aria questioned her motives.

Chiara was very grateful that Jade decided to join them at that moment, and immediatly tried to take the attention off her.
" Hi! Long time no see, huh? Had fun up there?" Chiara smiled at Jade while she chipperly asked her that.
" You okay?" Jade replied. She tilted her head to the right and looked at Chiara as if she was wondering if she had contracted some kind of cold that could affect her state of mind.
" Yeah,sure! why not?"
"You don't usually talk this fast."  she stated.
" Sure I do! "
Seeing the fact she wouldn't be able to get any info out of Chiara herself , she decided to just ask Aria (who at the moment had a somewhat smug look on her face) .
" What's going on? " She asked.
" I busted her saying she wanted to claim Kai as hers." Jades mouth dropped open, but she got herself together again pretty soon too.
" So, making progress honey?" Jade asked her beloved friend.
" No! Listen,  never said I wanted to 'claim' him. I said that IF I'd get together with Kai I'd want to show the others he's mine too."
" I call that progress. She sees the possibility." Aria nodded fervently to make sure it was very clear she agreed to that statement.
" Let's focus on something else now please?" Chiara pleaded.
" Like..." Jade asked.
"What happened out there?"
" Ehm, I thought you guys would've got that one. See, what I was doing there on that stage is what we grown-up people call 'kissing'" she said mockingly until Aria smacked her on the shoulder playfully and Jade gave along and bended to the right a bit with a grin on her face.
" Answer the question." Aria said. "The actual question now?"
" Well, first we argued and then we made up."
" And..."
" I think I might love him."
" You do? I mean, seriously?"
" Yeah,really, that whole bet was definantly good for one thing. It made me realise how much I really cared. When he 'betrayed' me I felt... there's no word that can descibe that feeling but I never want to feel that way again. And believe me, I find it very weird that I've fallen for him so easily but I do believe in love at first sight because I have seen enough proof that it does exist. He makes me want to kiss in the rain everyday,cursing his name everytime he acts stupid again, fight stupid little fights which we most definantly will...You two probably think I'm extremely naive now , huh?"
" But you seem like you feel pretty damn good now."
" Are you kidding me? Never been better. The secrets between him and me are out and the curse turned into a blessing. Wow, in my head that sounded alot less disney."
" A blessing with some passion I have never seen before." Aria mumbled smiling. Chiara nodded in agreement.
" I know he'll be there for me when I need him. I know he'll cradle me in his arms when I feel like everything's falling apart. I know that we'll fight one heck of a lot and that we'll have some kind of guilty pleasure in the fun of each fight."
" Interesting." Chiara herself was sunken in thoughts. Wasn't that how she wanted things to be with Kai?
" And girls.."
" What? You need tromrolls?"
" He loves me too."
" He said that?"
Jade nodded.

" In those exact words?"
" Yes."
" Wow. I never thought he was the kind of guy to ever tell anyone that. Truth OR lie."
" He did and he swore he wasn't lying. I can sense he wasn't lying too. " She gazed blindly in front of her. As if she was watching some kind of movie only she could see.
" I'm so happy for you!"
" Me too!" They both hugged Jade.
" So , should I be getting a bouquet somewhere so one of you can catch it so you can make up who first gets their guy? It would work without a marriage aswell right? You know, that whole thing of 'who catches the bouquet...' "
" Well I volounteer to be bridesmaid if it doesn't!" Chiara mentioned enthousiaticly after wich she stuck her tongue out. She got punced by Jade on the shoulder.
" Seriously now:I heard rumours from Chiara kissing Kai again and about a date for you and Ryan , Aria."
" He hasn't asked me out quite yet." Aria stated.
" Is he going to?"
" How am I supposed to know?"
Aria stated that Jade was extremely chipper .
" I know."
" It's the adrenaline. She lives on love. I'm expecting her to become a hippie soon, travel the world with Zane and tell everyone who wants to hear : " flower power rules all. " Chiara said jokingly.
Jade gave her a light punch against her shoulder again but she was grinning aswell. She could already imagine herself in those horrifying way too bright coloured clothes wich nearly always looked terrible on people , making a 'peace' sign. That much for looking up to strong, fighting, main characters in books and movies.

Jennifer tried to get the crowd silent again.
" Hello people?!"
No effect. She felt like she was going trough a déja-vu. Devon went to the guys and told them something. They nodded, after that he went to Jade,Chiara and Aria and whispered " Cover your ears. She is getting annoyed because they won't listen and you know what that means. "
The sharp wistle of the by now already well-known small flute sounded through the building. They had covered their ears just in time. It was silent again and everyone payed attention.
" Whoever invented this thing is a genius." Jennifer whispered to herself, looking at the small yellow flute in her hand. "Too bad it looks this bad." she continued.Devon went towards her and handed her a small box.  " What's that?" she asked,stopping mid-sentence.
" Well the point of a present is to be opened." Devon said while he smiled charmingly at her.
She opened it to reveal a black flute wich reflected a red light to the side of the box. At one side the  small sparkling stones had formed a tropical flower and on the other side there was an elegant bright blue J with a somewhat more rough looking night-blue D woven into it. It had a cord with small lapis-lazuli beads in it.
" You like it?" He asked while he placed a kiss on her neck.
" Honey, did you come up with this yourself?"
He let his chin lean on her shoulder.
" Yeah,of course I did. I don't think many other people need flutes to keep people in line like that."
" Thanks,honey. It's beautiful."
She kissed him quickly on the lips. Someone coughed as if to let her know they kind of wanted to hear what she was planning to say before the little gift. Jen immediatly pushed Devon away.
" Okay, back to the point now. To finish the sports thing here, there will be one last sport to go: Dance.
